Rocket Learning
Rocket Learning works to ensure every child achieves full mental and physical development by the age of 6, regardless of their background. It creates engaging, bite-sized videos showcasing play-based learning activities and distributes them via WhatsApp groups to public daycare workers across India. Rocket Learning currently reaches 30% of India’s public daycare ecosystem and 6 million children under the age of six in 16 states. We’re supporting its mission to reach 50 million children by 2030.

Challenge
India runs the world’s largest publicly-funded daycare system, caring for 40 million children aged 3 to 6 every day - primarily in lower-income communities. However, these public daycare centres have to date focused on nutrition and healthcare, not cognitive stimulation. As a result, millions of children aren’t ready to learn upon starting 1st grade.
Response
Rocket Learning leverages India's public daycare system to provide children with structured, play-based learning content they need to achieve their developmental milestones.
It produces short, engaging videos that introduce learning activities designed to stimulate children's cognitive and motor development. These videos, which are informed by the latest science on early learning, are shared daily with daycare workers, called Anganwadi, via WhatsApp groups. Rocket Learning also provides in-person and online training for Anganwadi workers to hone their skills as preschool educators.
In addition, Rocket Learning contributes to improving Early Childhood Education curricula and policy at national level and has joined the related taskforce at the request of the Indian Government.
