EDUCATE!
Educate! tackles youth unemployment by designing and delivering education programmes that equip young people in Africa with the skills to attain further education, overcome gender inequities, start businesses, get jobs, and drive development in their communities. We funded Educate! in Uganda to roll out its Educate! Experience curriculum to 66 schools in eastern Uganda.

ACTION
Since 2009, Educate! has been working to improve students’ work-readiness via an experiential learning model called Educate! Experience that gives them the opportunity to practice hard business skills (like opportunity identification and business planning) and soft skills (like critical thinking and collaboration) in secondary schools. The curriculum comprises sessions delivered over two school years.
Youth mentors are trained to coach students through the Experience curriculum and teachers are trained to use experience-based interactive teaching methods.
