OUR LEGACY FOUNDATION
Established by gender equality and women empowerment champion Oulimata Sarr, the Legacy Foundation works to accelerate women’s economic and financial inclusion in West Africa, focusing on climate-smart agriculture, including greenhouses, agro-processing, market access and primary production. We’re providing seed funding for the foundation to kick-start its Women Economic Empowerment in Agribusiness value chain project in the North of Senegal.

ACTION
Our Legacy Foundation’s "Women Economic Empowerment in Agribusiness value chain" project aimed to empower women farmers through agriculture. It focused on four key pillars:
• Policy Reforms: Advocating for improved access to land for women by engaging with stakeholders.
• Increased Productivity: Providing training on climate-resilient seeds, water management, and renewable energy to boost crop yields (targeting cereals and rice).
• Technology Adoption: Utilising drones for land surveying and AI (Korka ChatBot via WhatsApp) to deliver extension services in local languages.
• Financial Inclusion: Partnering with financial institutions to leverage credit lines and partial guarantees for women, promoting equipment leasing, and providing grants for essential equipment.
