AMREF HEALTH AFRICA
Amref Health Africa, headquartered in Kenya, is the largest health development organisation in Africa. Its programmes reach more than 10 million people annually. We funded Amref to increase children’s access to quality care in hard-to-reach regions of South Senegal. We also funded its subsidiary, Amref Flying Doctors, to provide medical humanitarian aid in South Sudan.

ACTION
AMREF Flying Doctors provided access to maternal healthcare for mothers and children displaced in the hard-to-reach Reggo district of Terekeka County. Services included antenatal visits for pregnant women, support during childbirth from qualified health workers and treatment for children suffering from malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea.
The district’s main nine health centres were also supplied with essential equipment and medicines, including antibiotics, fortified foods, and micronutrient supplements.
