Village Enterprise

Village Enterprise’s mission is to end extreme poverty in rural Africa through entrepreneurship and innovation. To accomplish this, Village Enterprise operates a one year, multi-faceted Graduation program that delivers business and financial skills training, mentoring by local business mentors, small cash grants, and savings and economic networks to first-time entrepreneurs who live on less than $1.90 a day. Village Enterprise creates opportunity for program participants to generate a sustainable income and savings stream through their small businesses that allows them to “graduate” from extreme poverty. With this new income and savings, they can feed their families, pay for school fees and health care, accumulate savings, and gain a sense of hope for the future.
Since 1987, Village Enterprise has started close to 36,000 small businesses, trained over 145,000 new small business owners and impacted over 750,000 people.
